Extended Services Supervisor/Preschool Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Hours: Monday 7:15am – 12:15pm

          Tuesday 7:15am – 12:15pm

          Wednesday 7:15am – 12:15pm

          Friday 7:15am – 12:15pm

This is a job share position so the successful applicant will be expected to cover until 6pm in the event of illness, training etc.

 

Rate of Pay:    Dependent upon on qualifications and experience.  There will be two rates of pay for this position.  The higher rate of pay will reflect the additional responsibilities associated with being a supervisor.

A role has arisen at our thriving childcare setting due to maternity leave.  We are looking for an experienced, Level 3 Practitioner to step into the role of Supervisor at Breakfast Club until 9am and then as a Preschool Assistant until 12:15pm. 

The supervisory role will involve greeting families as they arrive, booking children in, setting up and supervising play opportunities, overseeing the serving of breakfast and walking children to school.  At Preschool, you will be a Key Person for a small number of families.  This will involve planning play and learning opportunities, supervising indoor and outdoor play, preparing and serving snack, writing up observations using Tapestry, tracking the progress of development and setting next steps.

All applicants must hold at least a relevant Early Years qualification at Level 3 or above plus previous experience of working at an Early Years setting, ideally in a supervisory role.

Applicants will have an outstanding knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), play and child development and demonstrate this in practice. A sound understanding of safeguarding is essential.

Applicants are required to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written enabling them to engage effectively with other staff, parents and professionals.    Experience with using online Learning Journey systems would be advantageous. 

Offers will be made subject to a DBS Check at Enhanced Level and two satisfactory references. All positions are subject to a 6 month probationary period.

All applicants must hold at least a relevant Early Years qualification at Level 3 or above plus previous experience of working at an Early Years setting.  We'd like to employ someone fun, enthusiastic and able to use their own initiative.

Applicants will have an outstanding knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), play and child development and demonstrate this in practice. A sound understanding of safeguarding is essential.
