About Us

''Children display kind behaviour and play cooperatively together''

''Children take part in a daily vote to make decisions about what the group will eat at snack time. They learn that fruit receives the most votes so will be served for morning snack. This activity helps children's decision-making skills and introduces the principles of democracy.''

''Partnerships with parents are strong.''

''Staff use their detailed knowledge of children's developmental needs to provide purposeful activities to support children's learning.''

''Parents state that staff are 'reassuring, kind and patient', and they comment on children's access to 'fantastic activities and resources'.''

Busy Bees Ledbury is a thriving childcare setting located in The Hive, formerly known as Ledbury Youth Centre. The setting moved to this location from a rented Portcabin in the grounds of Ledbury Primary School in April 2018.  The new facilities offer more room for the children to play and learn within a safe, stimulating and modern environment.  Not only was the indoor area completely refurbished but the outdoor area has also been transformed.  With a beautiful natural area with mud kitchens, quiet spaces to talk and read and a gorgeous 'Little Hive' to play in, the main area is perfect for playing and learning.  An area of artificial grass provides a space for running, jumping and climbing and the new Forest School area is an exciting place to bug hunt, build a campfire, bird watch and enjoy many outdoor activities.

The setting is committee run and a registered charity. All other staff are fully qualified at level 3 or above, meaning that Busy Bees values the benefits of qualified, knowledgeable staff on the learning and development of children.

We offer Pre-school sessions for children aged 2-5 years.  â€‹

What can we offer your child at Busy Bees?

Busy Bees values the importance of play, particularly outdoor play and learning which is at the heart of what we do.  All children are treated as 'Unique' and activities are planned according to children's interests, preferences, learning styles and development.  Above all, we want your child to have fun and be happy at Busy Bees and as our Practitioners are trained and knowledgeable with excellent access to professional development opportunities.  Their qualifications, training and experience allow them to offer the best possible care and learning experiences for the children at our setting.

All children attending Busy Bees, have access to a wide range of activities and experiences during their time here.  Every session, children have opportunities to engage in role play, messy play, construction, creative activities, physical activities and mark making.  All the activities are planned to cover the seven areas of learning of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).  As we value the benefits of outdoor play and learning, children always have access to outdoor play.

Busy Bees Pre-School has been in existence for 30 years and was previously known as 'Ledbury Preschool' and 'Mucky Pups.'
